children edition

2-4 players / age 8-adult / 30-45 min

Game objective

By sliding tiles from the side onto the board, each player tries to compose as many fourleafs as possible. The game ends when one player reaches a total score of 10 points.

The board

A square board divided into a 4-4 grid. At the start of the game the board is placed on a table, or on any flat surface available.

The tiles

All tiles have ‘leafs’ drawn on them (1, 2, 4 or 4). Furthermore each tile is marked with a white triangle. During the game all tiles should point towards the same direction. At the start of the game all tiles are placed upside down next to the gameboard.

Game play

At the start of a player’s turn one takes a tile from the pile next to the board and places it on the board. Important: The tile can only be placed onto the board grid from one of the four sides. Facing tiles are slided along in the direction of the slide put on the board. If this causes another tile to fall out of the 4-4 grid, this last tile is put back on the pile of tiles next to the board. If after this move one or more fourleafs are created, this particular player scores points for each composed fourleave. The combination of 2 tiles: 1 point / combination of 4 tiles: 2 points.

the tiles which cause the score of a point are removed from the board and put back on the pile

Remark: it is essential that all triangles on the tiles point towards the same direction

The turn is now ended and it is to the next player to begin a turn and slide a tile onto the board.

The game ends whenever a player scores 10 points. The points are kept on a small counter next to the board. As an alternative you can play for instance 30 minutes and then check who has most points...
