PUBLISHER WANTED

2-4 players / age 7-adult / 30-45 min

Game objective

A vivid combination of Connect 4 and Ludo…
strategically move your tile 123…4 spots, try to compose 4-in-a-row onto the board but prevent your opponent of doing the exact same thing.

The Board

A square board, divided in to 2 sections: the outer ‘lane’ where a direction is indicated and the inner part. Each color is represented on a corner on the outer ‘lane’

The Tiles

There are 32 tiles in total, 8 of each colour: red, blue, yellow, green. Each of them a bit curved around the edge to facilitate handling during the game

Game play

Each player choses a color and takes the corresponding tiles. The youngest player starts. In a turn a player can decide to bring a new tile into play or move an existing one placed in the outer lane. In the first turn the player can of course only bring in a new tile.

Tiles are brought into play via the corresponding colored corner. The player then moves the tile 4 steps. One can decide to move the tile in 2 ways:
- following the outer lane: the tile is moved along the outer lane. If the tile ends on top of another player’s tile, the tile of your opponent is kicked out and removed from the board and handed back to this player
- into the inner part: the player first moves the tile at least one step along the outer lane. In the remaining steps the tile is slided into the inner section of the board. E.g. a tile is moved 2 steps on the outer lane, while it is slided the remaining 2 steps into the inner section of the board. Other tiles on the board are slided along in the same direction (picture 3). If this causes another tile to fall of the board, this tile is handed back to the player. A tile can not be slided into the inner part if the spot is occupied by another tile
After moving the tile, it is to the next player to start his turn.

The game ends whenever one of the players has four of his tiles in a row on the board (horizontally, vertically or diagonally). Both tiles on the outer lane and the inner section are valid (picture 4). The tile always has to move 4 steps, less is allowed only in the situation where the player can compose 4-in-a-row

remark:
- one can not slide a tile diagonally into the inner part. As a consequence a tile placed on the corner can’t move into the inner section from this location.
- when a new tile is brought into play, the corner spot doesn’t count as a step. it can only use the outer lane and not enter the inner part yet. from the second move it can
- If accidently a player, during his turn, composes 4-in-a-row for an opponent, then this opponent wins the game
- The game is best played with 3 or 4 players. In case of 2 players, each player choses 2 colors.
